travel, merit, and poster awards

Eligibility: Active ISSCR Student and Post-doc members who indicate interest in their abstract submission on or before 4 March 2026. Late-breaking abstracts are not eligible.  

Selection: Recipients are selected based on the quality of the abstract, as well as geographic representation and diversity.  The total award amount varies depending on travel distance.  

Funding: Provided by contributions from individuals and organizations within the ISSCR community to help defray travel and registration costs. We recommend seeking additional funding sources as we may not be able to accommodate all requests. If you secure alternative travel funds, please consider opting out of travel award consideration to increase opportunities for others. 

If you choose to opt out of travel award consideration, please notify the ISSCR Abstract Team by emailing abstracts@isscr.org.

Award Disbursement: Funds and an award certificate will be issued after confirming meeting attendance. 

Timeline:

• 4 March 2026: Last day to submit an abstract AND indicate interest in a Travel Award. Submitters must be an active ISSCR Student or Post-doc member by this date. 

• Late April 2026: Travel award notifications will be sent to the email address used for the abstract submission.  

• 13 May 2026: Travel award winners must accept and register by this date.

Recognition: Awardees will be recognized on the ISSCR Annual Meeting website and during the Annual Meeting. An award certificate will be sent to recipients after confirming meeting attendance.  

Timeline: Applicants will be notified of award status by Late April 2026 .  

Eligibility: Active ISSCR Student or Post-doc members who are the first author of the poster. Late-breaking abstracts are not eligible. 

Selection: Based on the quality of the abstract and the poster presented at the Annual Meeting.  

Recognition: Winners will be announced at the final plenary session of the Annual Meeting and will receive:  

• A $250 USD cash award.

• Complimentary registration for the ISSCR Annual Meeting the following year. 

• Recognition on the ISSCR website. 

• An invitation to present their work in an ISSCR webinar.
